Boys miss mothers the most while being away
London, Nov 7 (IANS) Boys at university miss their mothers more than girls do, a study in Britain has found.

While girls enjoy their newly-found freedom and the opportunity to look after themselves, the boys miss the comforts of living at home, the Daily Express reported.

In a survey of 1,000 students, nearly a third of boys said they would travel back home ‘just for a nice home-cooked meal’. Yet girls are more likely to go back within their first two weeks away, while boys tend to make the trip only once or twice a term.

Carly O’Donnell, of National Express, which commissioned the survey, said: ‘Being independent and making new friends is an exciting part of university. But everyone needs home comforts at times.

‘Almost half the students we spoke to were surprised by how much they missed home, with a quarter travelling back within their first two weeks.

‘A third said lack of money prevented them from going home as often as they’d like.’
