Dented-Painted Women!!!

Dented-Painted Women!!!-->
Woman --- a five-letter word which brings different imagery's to the mind. On one hand, the soothing halo, a woman forms is unparalleled to any other thing in this world; on the other hand, the sexual mental and physical exploit is also not far behind. They say, the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world. But, given the present conditions --- it proves to be nothing less than an irony. On one side, celebrations are on at the progress of the X-chromosome; while the other side of the coin laments at the fragility of her precious lifetime dignity.

Although being the president's son, Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee --- did not think twice before contaminating the Freedom of Speech --- the very basis of democracy and its limits. The women participating in the huge protests in the National Capital at the wake of the horrifying December 16th mishap, were termed by him as being highly dented and painted. The origin to this phrase is traced to the Bengali satire of speaking of the people who live on the surface without getting into the ground realities of things. He referred to them as being highly popularity-gaining and said that sparing some minutes of the day in a protest and then going to discotheques does not complement each other. He was of the opinion that women are primarily responsible for the various mishaps happening with them. Although he had to apologize, he left a question in mind- Are Indian women so subtle, so fickle-minded, so distant to the ground realities, which engulf them in every second of their conscience?

An average Indian women, working or a home-maker, a prostitute or a maid-servant has to undergo various tests, various obstacles to do anything she desires for. Not-withstanding the disapproving stares of the society which loves to bind women with its age-old meaningless rituals, the very step a woman takes which is outside the circle is annulled with a severe blow. The society is of the opinion that women should be within the four-walls of the house, covered from head to toe, doing nothing other than household chores. But the modern women, is beyond it. they are adept in multitasking, their costume does not decipher their character but is a mask of their true nature. Neither does it mean that she lacks ideologies and is immoral. There have been many instances when these women have proved to be the most brave, the kindest and the most matured citizens of India. Protesting for a grave cause, day in and day out doesn't hallmark the person as being highly sincere to the cause, but protesting for a limited time and making their mark in the protest is of a higher degree. The perfect way to protest is to perform one's duties without lack of commitment and sincerity while making their bit in the betterment of the society. The choice to live one's life is purely an individual's choice. It should not be tampered with. A woman, in any form is a woman; neither a mother, nor a wife, nor a maid-servant and not even a prostitute.

The Indian society should work on the betterment of itself and getting itself freed from these dark caves of such kind of negative alluring thoughts and actions. The most important task ahead is the proper education of the masses. A woman is a blessing in disguise, the sooner acknowledged, the better. For we all know, "Being a woman is a terribly difficult task, since it involves primarily dealing with men."
